Audies 2013 Call for Entries Now Officially Open

Audies Competition 2013

The Audio Publishers Association (APA) just announced the official opening of the “call for entries” for the 2013 Audies Competition.

The submission deadlines are:

  • August 31, 2012 — includes all titles issued from November 1, 2011 through July 31, 2012.
  • October 12, 2012 — includes all titles issued from August 1, 2012 through October 31, 2012.
  • December 14, 2012 — Deadline to submit Audiobook of the Year and Distinguished Achievement in Production entries.

Visit the APA site’s Audie Competition page for a complete list of categories, rules, eligibility – and the entry procedure.

NOTE: The APA has partnered with Audible.com to streamline the “submission” process. That means that if your title is available on Audible’s site, it will be easier for you to submit it – and easier for the judges to review it. Titles not available at Audible are still eligible to compete in the Audies competition – but “easier” is almost always “better.” Here’s the caveat from the APA:

Please make sure to visit Audible.com and find your title in their catalogue before selecting “digital” as your submission format. Finding out at the last minute that your title is not available on Audible creates a great deal of extra processing for staff and delays our judges’ ability to listen to your title(s).

Of course, if you’re a Big Happy Family publisher, you don’t have to worry about this, but you should still check.

Good luck!
