APA Announces the 2013 Audies Competition Finalists

Audies Competition 2013
On February 20, 2013, the Audio Publishers Association (APA) announced the final list of audiobooks nominated as finalists in the 2013 Audies Competition – “recognizing distinction in audiobooks and spoken word entertainment.”

There are five nominees in each of 28 categories, and the list of categories includes a wide range of content subjects as well as categories for narration, production and package design.

From the APA press release:

“It is always an exciting revelation to see which titles have been nominated, especially as the number of titles produced in audio each year is growing so rapidly,” said Michele Cobb, President of the APA. “Yet again, this year’s finalists do not disappoint. With an outstanding host, an amazing list of potential winners and a gorgeous venue, we look forward to once again celebrating excellence in audio publishing.” …

The Audies, sponsored by the Audio Publishers Association (APA), is the premier awards program in the United States recognizing distinction in audiobooks and spoken word entertainment. Through The Audies award competition, publishers are able to enter titles in various categories for recognition of achievement. Finalists are selected and, from that group of finalists, one winner is awarded. Winners will be recognized at the exciting Audies gala in New York City on May 30, 2013.

We at Big Happy Family Audio wish every single nominee the best of luck!

This competition is open to all audiobooks published during the qualifying time frame – whether from independent publishers or major houses – and the winners are selected based on one criteria: Quality. Like the digital publishing world in general, the Audies Competition is an opportunity any audio title to be recognized on its own merits.
